Hub Australia is incredibly lucky to be home to countless teams who are working hard to grow their businesses and change the world for the better.
The financing won by Edify Energy and Wirsol Energy will be used for the Gannawarra Energy Storage System, a large battery set to be integrated with a previous project – the Gannawarra Solar Farm.
The Victorian Government have selected Edify Energy and Wirsol Energy’s project as part of its Energy Storage Initiative, aiming to enhance the reliability of the energy grid in North West Victoria while simultaneously furthering economic growth.
The Victorian Government Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, along with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, have funded this project with a 25 million dollar grant, along with a long-term commercial services agreement with EnergyAustralia, who will operate the battery.
Edify Energy CEO John Cole is excited by what this project represents for the renewable energy sector.

In addition to continuing development of other projects in its portfolio, Edify Energy will undertake the construction management and long-term asset management roles for this project, the latter headed by Hub Southern Cross member and Edify Head of Asset Management, Iain Pople.
In the last year, Edify has grown dramatically, expanding their team from 3 to 18 employees. The company is spread across the country, largely based on the east coast of Australia.
Iain Pople and colleague Simon Mason are based in dedicated desks at Hub Southern Cross, and regularly make use of the meeting areas to bring colleagues and partners.

Edify’s new success in this project has not only helped grow their business while collaborating with the likes of Energy Australia and Tesla, it is also helping the environment, as Australia’s sights shift toward renewable energy sources.
Many parts of this project are being undertaken for the first time in Australia or the world, so Edify is demonstrating that they are not only a leader in their industry, they are also looking towards the future.
