The workplace is evolving beyond its conventional boundaries, with offices now expected to provide so much more than just desks and chairs.

As our flagship location, Hub Martin Place raises the bar by creating an elevated workspace experience that makes the commute well worth it. In this article, we hear from some of our members on why they love where they work.

An elevated experience in the perfect location

Founder of Capital Idea Sandy Halpin is a business advisor and executive coach focused on “Different by Design” strategies for growth, transformation and team development. Initially based at Hub Hyde Park, she was looking to upgrade to a bigger space when Hub Martin Place was launched.

Access to the best address in town instantly piqued her interest. “I love that it’s central – not just for me, but for my clients,” Sandy tells us. “It’s easy for people to get to because everything comes through the city in terms of public transport. So in terms of location, it’s perfect.”

But it’s when she entered Hub Martin Place that she knew it would be her next work home.

“The building is beautiful, prestigious, and luxurious. But at the same time, it’s really modern and contemporary too. I love the atrium and the amount of natural light that comes through.

“I love the design and decor, especially in the bar on level one. It reminds me of a really high-end yet cool restaurant bar – and somewhere you want to be. [Hub] Martin Place feels like a home for me and for my clients, a space people feel comfortable turning up to and one they want to be in.”

Making the right impression

Sandy often invites her clients to meet her at Hub Martin Place – whether for a quick catchup at her office, a casual meet at the aperitivo bar, or a formal workshop in a serviced meeting room. And she believes the workspace has the right impact on her clients.

“We use the boardrooms for team workshops, or my office for executive coaching. And every time they come here, they love it.

“It does have an impact on clients – they see that I’m part of a community, and this is a beautiful space,” she adds.

“The experience and the atmosphere is elevated, yet casual. It’s very much my style of environment – elevated high-end spaces yet comfortable and personal. Hub Martin Place matched my brief perfectly.”

The ideal workspace solution

As a financial advisor and founder of Advice Street, Steven Hastie has been searching for an office setup that would suit his needs.

He explains, “Because I’m in finance, I need a bit of privacy. And at the coworking spaces I’ve checked out, the choice is either a shared desk with someone sitting right next to me – or a full office space for a bigger team.

“But I needed something in between. I don’t need a full office space, yet I cannot be in an open area.”

Hub Martin Place offers a wide range of workspace solutions to cater to a wide range of business needs, from shared workspace areas and dedicated desks right up to fully furnished and customisable office suites.

And to Steven’s delight, we had just the right solution for him.

“When I saw that Hub Martin Place has a semi-enclosed fixed desk setup, I knew I had found my place.”

Strong connections and community

Like Sandy, Steven was after a premium space that could give his clients the right impression of his business. “I provide financial advice, so 80% of my clients come into the office and it’s important that they feel like it’s a nice place to come to.

“And because I’m a small business, it helps to be part of a bigger community here,” he says, adding that the Hub Martin Place team has been a great support.

“I love the people – both the Hub team and the other members. I don’t feel alone anymore, really. And I enjoy the businesses that are in here.

“The feeling I get is that it’s not really startup land here, and these are businesses that are quite established. So most of the time, I’m having high quality conversations with those around me, and I’ve made some good connections. It’s a great community.”

Sandy echoes that sentiment.

“I’ve built some good friendships with the other Hub members here. But the Hub team… I see them as more than services, if that makes sense. I feel like the team is an extension of me and my business – and they represent me and my business so well.”
